Two Houston women who believe care should be personal.
We built Anchor & Oak Home Care because we saw what was missing — and we knew we could build something better.
Why this company exists.
Between us, we have spent our entire careers in healthcare. We have seen the inside of hospitals, clinics, and home care agencies. We have watched families struggle to find caregivers they can trust. We have watched caregivers get treated like interchangeable labor. And we have watched the people who depend on this care — the elderly, the chronically ill, the families holding it together — pay the price for an industry that often forgets what it is actually here to do.
We built Anchor & Oak Home Care for a different reason. Not just to staff a shift. To care for a family. Every decision we make — how we hire, how we train, how we pay, how we communicate — comes back to that.
"Caring for someone you love is one of the most sacred things a person can do. We started Anchor & Oak Home Care so no family has to do it alone."
— Victoria & Jennifer, Co-Founders
Founders
Victoria Gaines, NP & Clinical Director
Victoria is a licensed Nurse Practitioner with [X] years of clinical experience caring for patients across Houston. She serves as Clinical Director, overseeing every care plan, supervising caregiver training and credentialing, and providing the clinical eye that catches what other agencies miss.
She has spent her career inside the healthcare system that families are trying to navigate. She knows what good care looks like, and she knows what it feels like when families do not get it. That is why she helped build this.
Jennifer Ngo, MHA
Jennifer holds a Master of Health Administration and has spent more than a decade owning and operating a successful service business in Houston. She leads operations, finance, and team development at Anchor & Oak Home Care, bringing the kind of healthcare management experience that turns good ideas into well-run companies.
She is a Houston mother, a small business owner, and a woman who has built systems from the ground up and who believes the home care industry desperately needs better ones.
What We Believe
Families are part of the team.
The adult daughter on the other side of town is just as much our client as the senior at home. We communicate, update, and listen because care does not happen in isolation.
Honesty over sales.
If home care is not the right answer for your family, we will tell you. If a different agency is a better fit, we will say so. Trust is the only thing that matters long-term.
Caregivers are professionals.
The individuals who provide home care are not labor. They are skilled professionals doing some of the most important work in healthcare. We pay them like it, train them like it, and treat them like it.
Clinical oversight matters.
Care without clinical judgment is just companionship. We bring clinical leadership to every case because the people we serve deserve it.
Built in Houston, for Houston families.
We are both Houston women. We have raised families here, built careers here, and watched our own loved ones age in this city. We know the neighborhoods. We know the hospitals. We know what summer in Houston does to an 85-year-old who lives alone.
Every caregiver we hire understands the families they serve because they are part of those communities too. We recruit from across Houston — Spanish-speaking, Vietnamese-speaking, Arabic-speaking, French-speaking caregivers — because Houston is one of the most diverse cities in America, and care should reflect that.
Meet Us.
The best way to know if we are the right fit for your family is to meet us. Victoria comes to your home for a free assessment, listens, and helps you think through what your loved one actually needs. No pressure. No script. Just a conversation.
